Listerine® Advanced Defence Cavity Guard significantly represses acid production in residual plaque

In an in vitro study, LISTERINE® Advanced Defence Cavity Guard demonstrated the repression of acid production in residual plaque. In this study, biofilms were grown for 48 hours, then treated with 1.8 ml of test rinse for 5 minutes, followed by a 3-fold rinse with cysteine peptone water.1

LISTERINE Advanced Defence Cavity Guard was 80% more effective at repressing the acidogenicity of residual plaque than water in this in vitro study.1 Clinical studies have confirmed that the reduction in residual plaque acidogenicity by the antibacterial agents in LISTERINE® Advanced Defence Cavity Guard is also seen in vivo.2,3

A valuable adjunct to mechanical cleaning in caries-prone patients

In studies, LISTERINE® Advanced Defence Cavity Guard has been shown to reinforce enamel, reduce bacteria and repress acid production in residual plaque.

It is also worth noting that Advanced Defence Cavity Guard is alcohol-free and contains xylitol. Consider recommending LISTERINE® Advanced Defence Cavity Guard in caries-prone patients in need of additional oral hygiene measures.
